For the past 30 years, Jim Velgot has dedicated his career to strategic brand development, content marketing and various creative platforms in financial services.
Jim spent over 20 years at Sanford C. Bernstein, now AllianceBernstein. He built and oversaw one of the most respected internal communication agencies on Wall Street, ranging the full spectrum from strategy & concept to production and delivery of print, presentations, digital assets, social media, event branding, interactive video, and full motion graphics.
As Managing Director of Marketing Communications, Jim developed a team of 60 professionals including graphic and motion designers, video editors, website developers, and project managers, while personally negotiating and managing relationships with a variety of key internal personnel from the Executive Committee to the CEO. His strategy and communication initiatives partnered with a wide array of internal business units including Institutional, Private Wealth, Retail, Research and Corporate. He was the pivotal creative and driving force behind the worldwide rebranding of Alliance Capital and Sanford Bernstein in over 26 countries.
Jim created the new identity for the firm, and helped foster new-generation ideas in all media, while acting as strategic counsel to the firms Executive Committee. Throughout his career, Jim has been at the forefront of next-technology deployment in all areas of print, digital, interactive media, on-demand, and multi-language live webcasting. Before joining Sanford Bernstein, Jim worked with Kidder Peabody and Coopers & Lybrand. Jim was most recently the CMO of a multi-billion dollar credit asset management firm which he rebranded in the Private Equity space. He is a graduate of Pratt Institute with a BFA in Communications Design.
